B.O.L.D. – Building Optimization for Lasting Development

The Netherlands has a vast stock of existing residential buildings that present untapped opportunities for energy-efficient renovations. However, evaluating the renovation potential and assessing the financial viability of these projects is complex. Developers and housing associations face challenges in making data-driven decisions that balance renovation costs, energy efficiency, and long-term value. B.O.L.D. addresses these challenges by providing optimized renovation scenarios, enabling stakeholders to make informed, strategic decisions. Our solutions help assess risks and opportunities, ensuring cost-effective, sustainable renovations that enhance building performance and support long-term investment success.

There are about 1.5 million blind children worldwide, and this number appears to be growing. with many lacking access to performing arts education, which is vital for developing motor skills, enhancing body awareness, and boosting confidence. This disparity became evident to me when a young girl at a cancer home responded to my question about her future aspirations with, "What could I possibly be?" Determined to make a difference, I co-founded Neysa, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching performing arts to underprivileged communities in India, impacting over 500 children and elderly individuals. Building on this experience, we aim to extend our reach to visually impaired children, providing them with accessible dance therapy to promote holistic well-being and empowerment.

Public AI models, such as ChatGPT, pose risks as confidential information could leak or be exposed to third parties. Many businesses recognize AI’s potential but lack the technical expertise to implement it safely. They struggle to balance innovation with security, often delaying AI adoption due to these concerns.

We are addressing the everyday problem of procrastination, lack of willpower and demotivation. For many people it is difficult to overcome these problems, therefore, they might need external factors to help them attain their daily and life goals.

In the Netherlands, patients face long waiting times and cumbersome call systems when trying to book a doctor’s appointment. Traditional methods—whether through overloaded phone lines or outdated forms and emails—create frustration and delays. These inefficiencies not only add stress during times of need but also risk delaying essential care, especially when immediate guidance or an appointment is critical.

Students face challenges in selecting the right university due to subjective and highly influenced rankings, limited evaluation criteria, and a complex decision-making process. With inconsistent information and a lack of personalized guidance, many struggle to make informed choices that align with their academic and career goals.

Developers and indie hackers can struggle to consistently share their progress while building in public. Posting updates manually gets time-consuming and distracting from the development work. But by not paying attention to marketing, great products and ideas remain unseen, or miss valuable feedback and opportunities for growth.

On the road

Many travelers, especially solo young women, experience anxiety when navigating unfamiliar transit systems due to language barriers and hesitation in asking for help. The fear of miscommunication or safety concerns often discourages them from approaching strangers, making their journeys stressful and isolating.

FluentVerse

The current lack of ways to learn languages in an immersive, interactive, and personalised way. All current methods take many years, or only get you to a very basic level of speaking.

Information system for healthcare

Dutch health care system is struggling with the information systems available, it is a very scattered IT landscape decreasing the capacity of General Practitioners and other health professionals while we have an aging population and less financial means
