Mission

We aim to automate the surface preparation process of cargo ship hulls.

The challenge

Surface preparation of cargo ship hulls is a time-consuming and expensive process. Current methods rely either on manual labor, which is slow, costly, and dangerous, or on multiple specialized machines for different parts of the hull, which reduce labor costs and processing time but introduce high equipment costs and dependence on skilled operators. Despite these improvements, the process remains inefficient.

The solution

We introduce a surface preparation robot that can operate largely autonomously and handle different hull geometries. By replacing multiple specialized machines, it simplifies the process, reduces costs, and lowers the need for skilled operators, while also making the process faster.
