Memora
Mission
Our mission is to support individuals affected by memory loss, whether due to dementia, Alzheimer’s, brain injury, or other causes, in maintaining independence, confidence, and quality of life.
The challenge
Cognitive health is an increasingly critical concern. More than 55 million people live with dementia, a number expected to nearly double by 2050, with Alzheimer’s disease accounting for 60–70% of cases. While age is the strongest risk factor, especially after 65, cognitive decline is not a normal part of aging. Moreover, memory loss can also result from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, or other medical conditions, affecting people across different ages. Declining cognitive health significantly impacts daily functioning, making it difficult to manage quotidian tasks. Addressing these challenges requires effective, accessible solutions that support memory, safety, and autonomy in everyday life.
The solution
By encouraging repeated retrieval of personal and meaningful information, we focus on strengthening recall and supporting users in remembering what matters in their lives. Memora is a paired application system consisting of a remotely managed app and a tablet used by the person experiencing memory loss. The designated guardian uploads personalized content such as photos, names of family members, important memories, and recorded voice messages. The tablet is dedicated solely to this application and automatically launches daily, guiding the user through familiar information and gentle recall exercises. This setup ensures simplicity, consistency, and personalized memory support without overwhelming the user.
